A crusade to shut down beer parlours, reduce crime and depopulate the kingdom of darkness in Ogba area of Lagos, western Nigeria, is underway, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, MFM, said at a press conference on Sunday. "We want to close down beer parlours in Ogba environment. We want to convert beer parlours into our praying centres," said Pastor Aderemi Oseni, the Regional Overseer of MFM Region 32 Ogba, Lagos, who addressed journalists in his church. 2 Nigerians jailed over £19million internet scam

Two young Nigerians based in Manchester, United Kingdom have been punished by a Crown Court for their part in a Nigerian inspired internet banking scam which could have netted a phenomenal £19million after hacking the accounts of nearly 2,500 people. The Mail Online reported today that Aderoju Bammeke, 22, and his girlfriend Jessica Ogunyemi, 20, both of Manchester, were the UK 'platform' for a Nigerian 'phishing' scam that made £41,000 in just two months. The plot, alleged to be masterminded by a gang based in Nigeria, involved sending fake emails to customers of banks including Barclays and Halifax. According to The Mail report, the emails told recipients that their accounts had been hacked and asked them to complete a form with their log-in details. Kidnapped Wazobia FM's Presenter Akas Released, recounts his ordeal in kidnappers den

For seven days, Port Harcourt-based radio presenter Anthony Akatakpo, popularly known as Diplomatic Akas Baba, was the unwilling 'guest' of a band of kidnappers that stormed his home about two weeks ago. Not only did Akatakpo's abductors shoot him in the leg before taking him away, they threatened to kill him if his wife failed to pay them a ransom of N10m. But thankfully, Akas Baba was eventually released by his abductors although they did not get the money as demanded. Recounting his ordeal in the kidnappers den, Akas in a chat with Punch, said his abductors kept him blindfolded in an uncompleted building located inside a forest and fed him only fufu, bread and water.
