The Cross River Government and Silverbird Group have signed a four-year contract for the hosting of two pageants in Calabar. Acording to the agreement, Calabar will play host to Silverbird’s MBGN and the maiden edition of Miss Africa Beauty Pageant being facilitated by the Cross River Government. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the pageants would hold at the 5,000-seat capacity Calabar International Convention Centre (CICC). The Miss Africa Beauty Pageant to be managed by the Silverbird and the MBGN would hold at CICC in October and December respectively. Speaking shortly after the contract signing ceremony at the CICC in Calabar, Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River expressed confidence in Silverbird’s capacity to manage the events. Ayade said: “Silverbird has the capacity and expertise to manage the centre as well as organise the pageants. According to Queen, people look at her embarrassingly whenever she steps out. She said she lived a normal live until she was 21 when hair started growing all over her body.  According to Queen who is now 26, she inherited this from her mother. Once you get to 21 to 23 years in my family, you start experiencing hair growth, she said. I want people to treat me like a normal human being and I will also love to appear in movies, Queen said. Ross was released on $2 million bond on Wednesday that included $1 million equity on two of his homes, a $500,000 surety bond and another $500,000 in cash. Rick Ross was finally released from jail a week after being arrested on assault and kidnapping charges. A Fayette County judge approved of his release on $2 million bond on Wednesday, July 1 after he made a difficult deal with the judge. According to TMZ, the bond included $1 million equity on two of his homes, a $500,000 surety bond and and another $500,000 in cash. He also reportedly has to wear a GPS ankle monitor.  In addition to that, Ross' attorney promised his client would forfeit ownership of his $5 million Fayetteville property if he violated the conditions of his bond by threatening a witness or obstructing justice.  During the rapper's bond hearing, prosecutors reminded the judge how vicious Ross allegedly assaulted the victim, Jonathan Zamudio. Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has washed off his hands from a wedding ceremony of his daughters, (name withheld) which comes up next Sunday in Lagos. Fani-Kayode made this known in Lagos in response to a question on the marriage, shortly after he was discharged and acquitted by the Lagos High Court on the case filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He said, “I won’t attend the wedding, am not aware of it and I did not give my approval” The bride to be is a daughter to Fani-Kayode’s first wife, Yemisi Wada, who is a daughter to the former governor of old Kwara State, Adamu Attah. Efforts to reach the mother of the bride to be proved abortive as calls placed to her GSM line were never answered.
