A graphic artist with the National Mirror Newspaper, Ezingbe Daniel,

on Thursday.

A colleague of the deceased's, who requested anonymity, said Daniel

was electrocuted on the spot.

The apartment of the deceased Ezingbe Daniel

"This is a big loss and we are yet to come to terms with his death.

From what we gathered from his family, he was having issues with the

electricity in his house because his landlord cut him off power supply

to his apartment for more than three months and he has been relying on

his generator for power but he was not aware that his landlord had

restored his electricity.

"At first, it was his daughter that went to put on the generator and

the generator almost electrocuted her. She later called her father

that the generator was charged and when she tried to switch it on, the

generator shocked her. That was how her father (Mr. Ezingbe) came to

switch on the generating set but he was electrocuted instantly as he

pulled the rope.

"The shock threw him off balance and slammed him on the floor. He

died on the spot."

The source added that the corpse has been deposited in a mortuary but

the police arrested the unnamed landlord in connection with the death.
