Nsukka Re-Opens For Normal Academic Activities

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN has has announced immediate

resumption for all staff and students of the Institution. They are no

longer waiting for ASUU to call off the strike.

The University made this announcement a day after the Federal

Governments Declaration that all staffs who fails to resume in a week

should consider themselves resigned.

According to source, a memo was pasted inside the school premises

noticeboard across The Faculties of the Institution.

SUBJECT: UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, NSUKKA REOPENS FOR NORMAL SCHOOL ACTIVITIES.

This is to inform the general public, especially students and parents,

that normal academic activities have resumed at the UNIVERSITY OF

NIGERIA.

Consequently, students who have outstanding examinations for the

2012/2013 session are advised to report to their respective

faculties/departments in both campuses of the university immediately.

Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan has approved a bill banning gay marriage and same-sex partnerships that sparked international condemnation, his spokesman said on Monday. "I can confirm that the president has signed the bill into law," Goodluck Jonathan's spokesman Reuben Abati told AFP, without specifying a date but adding that it happened earlier this month. Abati said Jonathan signed off on the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Bill 2013 because it was consistent with the attitudes of most people towards homosexuality in the west African nation. Tension in the Senate as 11 PDP senators decamped to APC

After failing to come up with a reasonable excuse why he happily allow Senators to decamp from their party to PDP in the past, Senate President David Mark cited a court order and declined to accept the defecting 11 PDP Senators' letter who have indicated their intention to join the APC. At a closed door session of the Senate on Wednesday, Mark reportedly said he would not accept the letter until the injunction restraining him and House of Reps Speaker Aminu Tambuwal is vacated. But Tambuwal has been reading letters of Senators who who are moving from APC to PDP and from PDP to APC, so what exactly is holding Mark if not the fear the fear of the unknown?
