A Nigerian-born UK-based pop singer, Yemisi May Odegbami popularly known as May7 has said that Kanye West's new video 'Bound 2′ featuring a half-nude Kim Kardashian is the height of disrespect to women. "The video is the worst example and worst display of real love," she said. The music video features Kanye's baby mama and fiancee straddling him on a motorbike as they simulate sexual intercourse. The singer, who is also the daughter of ex-footballer Segun Odegbami, said in a series of tweets that Kanye West is "suffering from egotism placing himself at the core of his own world with no concern for anyone, including loved ones." Chris Brown evicted from Rehab centre

Following an altercation that ended with him checking into a rehabilitation centre to seek professional help for his bad temper, American artiste and actor, Chris Brown, has been evicted from the Malibu, California treatment centre after only 13 days. Reports say the rehab centre turned Chris out after he shattered the window of his mother's car with a rock following a disagreement over the length of time he should spend in rehab. The 24-year-old artiste was back in court on Wednesday and the judge ruled that he would spend 90 days in rehabilitation. Chris was also ordered to check into a court-approved live-in anger management rehabilitation centre in Los Angeles and report for drug testing. During an interview earlier this year, when asked about the assault on his ex-girfriend, Rihanna, Chris said he "finally learnt that beating a woman is wrong" and subsequently got caught in brawls with different men. Now he's thrown a rock at his mother's car.

SSS Arrested 5 Boko Haram Suspects And A University Lecturer

The State Security Service (SSS) today in Abuja paraded five suspected Boko Haram members alleged to have planned deadly attacks on Igala, Kogi State. Among the suspects were Dr. Mohammad Nazeef Yunus, an Assistant Lecturer in Arabic and Islamic Studies at Kogi State University. He was said to be the Spiritual Leader and Coordinator for Boko Haram in the State, and the leader of the gang. Nazeef, who was born in Idah, Kogi State, attended the Arabic Central Primary School in that town, and El-Kanemi College, Maiduguri. He also studied at the Islamic School, University of Medina, in Saudi Arabia and served in the National Youth Service Corp in 1995 at Al-Iman Secondary School, Dogon Dutse, in Jos. Nazeef earned a Masters Degree in Arabic from the University of Jos. Just last year, he earned a Ph.D in Islamic Studies from Kogi State University. Golden Eaglet, Friday Njengo, dies

A member of the Golden Eaglets, Friday Njengo, has died after failing to recover from injuries sustained in an accident. Njengo, who was a regular player in the team during their qualifiers for the 2013 CAN U-17 Championship, had been in intensive care at the National Hospital, Abuja for more than nine months before he passed on Sunday. The defender was involved in an accident on February 3 alongside teammate Adamu Abubakar while traveling from Jalingo to Calabar for the team's final camping ahead of the African Championship. While Njengo sustained a head injury in the accident, goalkeeper Abubakar was luckier and was discharged after a few days. The Nigeria Football Federation had moved Njengo from the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo to the National Hospital, Abuja two days after the crash. At the National Hospital, an operation was performed on the player and he was thought to be recovering, though still suffering from memory lapse, until his death on Sunday night.

A 31-year-old man, Kabiru Mohammed, has confessed to hiring a seven-man robbery gang to steal $383,000 (N61, 280, 000) from his father. The suspect, who works with his father, toldPUNCH Metrothat he hired notorious robbery kingpin, Abiodun Ogunjobi, aka Godogodo, to steal the money from his father who owns a bureau de change at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. PUNCH Metro learnt that the gang robbed Mohammed's father twice. Mohammed, who is being detained at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, said, "My father is a bureau de change operator at the airport. PDP faction charges IGP on immediate probe into disruption of G7 Governors’ meeting

To prove its sincerity on the recent disruption of the meeting of the G7 Governors by its officers in Abuja, the Alhaji Abubakar Baraje-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded an immediate probe into the act by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar. The IGP had exonerated himself during his appearance before the House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs probing the disruption of the November 3, 2013 meeting of the governors at the Kano State Government Lodge, Asokoro. According to Abubakar, "I want to state categorically that neither myself nor any of my officers directed anybody to disrupt any meeting, but the officer has a duty to account for his actions and activities within his domain." Civil Defence arrests 47 pipeline vandals in Edo State

The Edo command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Wednesday said it arrested 47 oil pipeline vandals between January and November. The State Commandant, Mr. Chike Ikpeamonwu, said in Benin that the vandals were arrested at different locations across the state through the command intelligence network. "Within one year of our operations in the state, we have been able to arrest more than 47 vandals, and also locate and destroyed seven illegal refineries in the state. "The illegal refineries were located at Fiafia-Zion-Gbelebu, in Ovia South West; Uloke and Agbede in Etsako West local government areas of the state. "We have also raided warehouses where illegal petroleum products are being stored and destroyed them across the state. "Within the year in review, the command has organised training for corps members in weapon handling, counter force and intelligence gathering among others," he said.
